Young people explored the rights and wrongs of their local food system and engaged in conversation with Council leaders about the improvements they wanted to see during a three-day course delivered at Marcus Lipton Community Enterprise in July and August.
Educators from Wood and Water created tools to help young people understand the food system, before leading them on a tour of Loughborough Junction to gather insights about the quality of locally available food. They visited various shops, as well as Loughborough Farm and the Platform Cafe.
On the last day of the three-day course, they spoke with Bimpe Oki, Lead Consultant and Acting Director of Public Health in Lambeth, about changes the Council could make to give residents in their area better access to healthy food.
