Stockwell War Memorial

The Stockwell War Memorial, a beautiful clocktower built of Portland Stone, was created in 1922 to remember the 574 men of Stockwell who died in the First World War. As time marched on a ventilation shaft for the nearby Stockwell underground station was built next to the memorial and provided the canvas for the to pay tribute to those who fell in WW2 through the Stockwell war memorial mural.
