Trip to Wolves Lane Centre

Incredible Edible Lambeth joined other organisations to visit Wolves Lane Centre in Haringey on 13th August. Eleven representatives of nine organisations from Food Five Ways area learned about the work of Black Rootz and Ubele, enjoyed a tour around Wolves Lane Centre fantastic greenhouses and ate lunch together in the sunshine before taking part in a collaborative planning session in the afternoon. We also heard from a National Lottery Community Fund officer, who described opportunities to raise funds for food growing projects.

Organisations that sent representatives were Lambeth Food Partnership, Marcus Lipton Community Enterprise, Ethical Events Academy, Loughborough Community Centre at Max Roach, Myatt’s Fields Park Project, Incredible Edible Lambeth, Loughborough Junction Action Group, Eyes of Many/Brixton Farm and COPEF Training Skills.

Feedback showed that people loved visiting the site and learning about the work of Ubele, Black Rootz and the National Lottery Fund, but particularly enjoyed exploring collaborative working and connecting to other people and organisations.

Thanks to Lambeth Food Partnership for supporting the development of Food Five Ways, and to Lambeth Forums Network (Myatt’s Fields Forum) for funding the trip.
