Incredible Edible Lambeth will have 5 large and 10 small packs of baby vegetable plants to give away on October 2nd 2025. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and we will ask you to pick up the plants from Myatt’s Fields Park on 2nd October between 10am and 4pm.
Small pack: enough to plant up 5-6m2 of bed space.
Large pack: enough to plant up 10-12m2 of bed space.
What’s in the packs:
A few fast growing vegetables (Pak Choi, Japanese Turnips) for harvest by early November
Overwintering salad leaves such as Land Cress and Oriental greens for winter salad harvests. To get the best from these consider covering with cloches ( a mini greenhouse, eg a big transparent water bottle with the bottom cut off, or something fancier) or a mini hoop tunnel, covered with clear plastic or horticultural fleece.
And hardy crops to be harvested from March to June next Spring: Spring lettuce, Spinach, Spring onions, regular onions and Spring Cabbage. Find out more about some of these vegetables from Charles Dowding here.
Small packs will contain enough plants to cover 8m2 with a few extra for pots and window boxes.
Large packs will contain enough plants to cover 16m2 with a few extra for pots and window boxes
