This post will support the development of community engagement with our composting project, and with promoting composting to people living in social housing in Lambeth.

It would be an excellent post for someone who wants to support the development of climate friendly practices in cities.

Aims of the composting project

In the next year we want to expand community composting of food in Lambeth’s housing estates with the aim that more people are able to reduce food waste and increase the amount of compost produced in the borough. The project:

  •       Provides members with the information, capacity building and resources they need to sustain community composting.
  •       Develops a model for community composting on urban housing estates
  •       Supports the development of composting sites across Lambeth’s housing estates by May 2024

In particular in 2023-24 we aim to build engagement with composting on housing estates in the Borough of Lambeth. A key aim is to ensure that Lambeth’s diverse communities are better reflected and empowered throughout the organisation.
