Friends of Windmill Gardens

The Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) is a local residents’ group set up in 2003 to campaign to restore, preserve and enhance Brixton Windmill and Windmill Gardens. We became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2018. In 2020 we opened Brixton Windmill Centre, next to the windmill, which acts as a community hub. Our gardening volunteers work hard to enhance Lambeth Council’s park including maintaining various growing areas for vegetables, flowers and wheat. Other activities include milling flour,  organising guided tours and education visits inside the windmill,  an annual community events programme and weekly wellbeing activities for our local community.
