We are a primary school that has 2 playgrounds. In the infant playground there is a green outside classroom and raised beds used for growing a variety of fruit and vegetables. And in the junior playground we have flower beds and plans to plant up a tropical bed with mostly hardy exotic or exotic looking plants.
We have vegetable planters outside the classrooms where we grow a variety of fruit and vegetables including tomatoes melons cucumbers rhubarb black currants beans peas and chard. The children are involved with the gardens from the planting of seeds to the harvesting and cooking of produce. There are 2 gardening clubs for both children and parents. We are in the process of renovating the gardens which had become overgrown.
