Volunteers from St Thomas with St Stephen’s church and the local community started making this garden in February 2017. The land is part of St Thomas’ church garden and had been the site of an electrical substation, that was relocated last year. The garden is for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience food growing and appreciation for nature. We are growing vegetables such as beans, cabbages, beetroot, kale, salads, tomatoes and potatoes, as well as fruit such as apples, loganberries and gooseberries. We have a herb area and a bug hotel. People of all ages have been involved, from some of the youngest to some of the oldest members of our local community. The work is on going and the overall structure of the garden is not completed but we are very pleased with what has been achieved so far
