We are using a garden area that has fallen into disuse to establish a thriving, accessible food-growing garden that will offer gardening opportunities to children and adults of all abilities. Existing raised beds will be utilised as well as new containers. The garden will incorporate a relaxing sensory area. Steps will be taken to encourage wildlife (including maintaining an adjacent and recently disused wildlife area) and provide teaching opportunities about wildlife and environmental issues. The garden will be used for an after-school club, class topic teaching, as well as group and individual sessions during the school day. There will be an emphasis on wellbeing and healthy eating through growing, cooking and eating vegetables, fruit and herbs.
