Edible Marsh’s aim is to enhance the Lower Marsh greenery while inviting customers, tourists and locals to enjoy their lunch break by getting green-fingered and learning how to sow seeds and grow edible plants – such as chillies, herbs, tomatoes, rocket & more – from scratch.
This event forms part of the wider sustainability projects we have planned for Lower Marsh Market. Large groups (such as offices) are encouraged to book via email at info@wearewaterloo.co.uk and individuals can sign themselves onto a session via Eventbrite.
We currently have the following edible greenery growing on Lower Marsh: Tomatoes, french beans (tall and dwarf), chillies, cucumbers, sweet peppers, strawberries, raspberries, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme, basil, mint, oregano, coriander & fennel. Further, to aid pollination we have the following flowers: Tagetes, sunflowers (edible), calendula (edible), nasturtiums (edible) & lavender (edible).
