The gardens at the Lambeth Community Care centre have for years provided a space for patients to relax and recover.
The Amputee Rehabilitation Garden was created at the start of 2018, with the support of Guys and St Thomas Charity to help rehabilitate patients staying at the Amputee Rehab Unit, Lambeth. The garden has been designed for wheelchair and amputee rehabilitation use.
Health promotion and education plays an important part in the rehabilitation service offered. The new Rehab garden is helping patients to develop functional skills, improve dynamic balance, improve mental health and put salad and home grown vegetables on the menu.
Joint winner of Blooming Lambeth Awards 2018 Best garden anywhere else.
