Growing from the Root was an Awards for All-funded project aimed at bringing people together, engaging local residents; and supporting food growing throughout Lambeth by supporting community events at housing estates.
Between September 2024 and July 2025, 12 events were held across the borough ranging from seasonal celebrations to community gatherings around food; corporate workdays building new gardens to planting days with a bouncy castle. We provided support to community leaders to organise their events, and provided £650 per estate to fund whatever they needed for the event.
