Myatt's Fields Sunday Market
Incredible Edible Lambeth is supporting this fab new weekly market and is working with the organisers to make it a place where community gardeners from around Lambeth can sell their (surplus) produce. Is this something you would be interested in? Please let us know what you think of this idea.
Very much interested, locally produced veg and fruits yes please, I know from working in many gardens that there is a lot of seasonal produce out there to go around, and it ''ll be fantastic to have access to fresh, zero carbon, nutritious locally produced fare.
Yes, definitely. It was one of our suggested actions in our Rethinking the Local Food Economy report in 2013. Crystal Palace Transition Town have been doing as part of their 'Patchwork Farm' at their wonderful Saturday Food Market for several years. And it has worked. Bring a surplus, take away another surplus of roughly equal value (or not) and have the chance to buy other surpluses or anything that you're not growing from the Sunday market. I'd definitely participate.
I finally managed to make it to the Sunday market, I got some detergent from Joe at the Eco-cleaning products stand and some nice UK tomatoes from the reasonably priced veg stands, visited the IEL stand and they had lovely tomatoes plants fresh veg and other goodies courtesy of Myatt's Fields' own gardens , grown by the lovely garden's team. With harvest time kicking in the next few weeks more fresh produce will be on the stand, chives tomatoes etc I cant wait, I ll need a bigger bag!!!!!
I have some pictures but I dont know if there is a way to upload them, Help Admin team!!!!! 😉 😀
PS any one growing onions???? Why is it so difficult to find locally grown onions and the weather s been so good
