We know that accessing affordable and good quality compost can be a major barrier for community food growing groups. In response to this, we have ordered three tonnes of organic compost for community growing groups based in Lambeth. This compost is offered to anyone who is part of a community growing group and a member of Incredible Edible Lambeth. If you are not already a member, then you can sign up here (it’s free and only takes a couple of minutes) – please specify which group you are part of.
The compost will be available at Clapham Bandstand Beds (1 tonne) and Myatt’s Fields South estate (2 tonnes) from Saturday 25th April. Each 1 tonne bag of compost will be delivered to a publicly accessible space with nearby parking so you can come and collect at any time. First-come-first served so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Instructions for anyone collecting from Bandstand Beds: People driving to collect the compost will need to enter from The Avenue, Clapham Common Southside (A24, South Circular A205). They will then be able to drive as far as where the red car is in the photo – and park. The compost will be just behind the log, next to where the person is standing – left of pic.
