Last Sunday, we organised an upskilling workshop with Lambeth-based social enterprise Urban Canopy, hosted at the lovely Denmark Hill Community Garden. Food growers and gardeners from nine different community gardens across Lambeth came along to learn how to transform discarded pallets into planters. We learnt how to dismantle a pallet safely, basic carpentry skills and the safe use of tools. It was fantastic to see all of the creative design ideas that everyone came up with, and we hope that the planters produce many happy plants in the season to come.
