We are excited to launch the Lambeth Food Growing Network this July.
Thanks to City Bridge Foundation funding, we now have capacity to work on something that we have wanted for a long time – to actively connect food growers in Lambeth, and support the development of an empowered and skilled network.
We will be working with community groups and housing estates to co-design a 5-year programme of upskilling workshops and networking events, aiming to facilitate more opportunities for food growers to connect with each other, share skills and resources, and contribute to the future direction of the network.
We have employed a Network Manager, Charlotte Dove, to build relationships with Lambeth’s growing groups, research their needs, and co-design an upskilling programme. Here’s a word from Charlotte:
“Hi! I’m Charlotte and I’m the new Food Growing Network Manager at IEL. I have a background in community gardening and therapeutic horticulture and I’m passionate about growing fruits and vegetables and supporting others to do the same. I’m greatly looking forward to getting to know Lambeth’s growers and growing spaces over the coming months, and finding out more about what you’re up to and what support you need to keep on growing.
