The awards is a chance for every grower in the borough to win a cash/ voucher prize and be recognised for their contribution to making Lambeth a better place to live.
So please support and celebrate the community gardens and gardeners
in Lambeth and nominate someone or somewhere that
you think deserves recognition.
Before you begin, in order to nominate you will need a few photos
and some contact details.
And remember you can nominate yourself,
but not for a category that you won last year.
Incredible Edible Lambeth and Lambeth Council join forces each year to organise and host the awards. This collaboration aims to recognise and celebrate the individuals, groups, and communities who have made significant contributions to the betterment of Lambeth. Through these awards, the local government and the non-profit organisation hope to encourage and inspire others to take action and create positive change in their respective communities.
This year, we have eight categories and are delighted to announce our ‘Best Wildlife’ category is changing to ‘Best Sustainability’ and is supported by Bee Roads.
We will shortlist applications in the following weeks and judging and photographing will take place during the first two weeks of July.
You may receive a visit from a judge at any time during these two weeks. We may try to call you but we may turn up unannounced.
The categories are:
1. The Ivor Picardo award for the most productive vegetable garden
2. School garden
3. Most enthusiastic young gardener – under 18
4. Volunteer for a community growing space
5. Resident led estate garden
6. Garden in bloom, public facing
7. Best space for encouraging wildlife
8. Imaginative use of greening a small space
